Reil is also excited about being able to use the Euphoria engine in Vengeance, which will give the game more realistic, more brutal looking tackles. “So the digital route was the obvious way to go.” “Quite frankly, we wanted to give people a new Backbreaker experience for the summer, something that’s easy to pick up, but with hours of gameplay,” he explains. “The formula is already working incredible well on iOS, where Backbreaker has racked up more than 5 million downloads so far.”Īs for going completely digital, the project just seemed right for a platform like Xbox Live Arcade. “We got a lot of messages from people asking us to take the ‘Tackle Alley’ mini-game from the original and do it justice on console,” Reil explains.
